PDG : cultural and linguistic adaptation that goes far beyond the work of run-of-the-mill translators.

We hate fawning, but they insisted so much...

Probably the biggest challenge for any national advertiser in Canada is making sure that your message gets seen correctly in French. Québécois can see through a translation very quickly – if it’s not adapted for Québec, it’s not right. PDG has been a great support to our National campaigns for many years, making sure we are speaking with a correct voice in an important market.

In the 90’s I invited Paul de Grandmont to be part of a creative team that developed advertising and promotional campaigns for the Régie des installations olympiques du Québec. I can vow that he proved to be a very creative copywriter, a team person always listening to clients’ needs, and someone on whom I could always count.

There is always confidence when we work with communications PDG inc. Service is fast and reliable. More important, Paul de Grandmont and his team take the time to understand material for translation and question English copy if necessary.

One of the challenges we face when translation services are required is the fact that we need to have copy that works for the task at hand, translated and presented in a natural way (as opposed to a strictly literal way). Over the last 10 years or so working with Paul de Grandmont this has been proven over and over again: accurate, reliable and natural... that's what we expect from Paul, and he delivers.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul de Grandmont for a long period of time. I’ve always recognized him as a genuine communications professional. His creative skills are highly developed, and on top of that his command of the French language is all but perfect.

I have no hesitation in recommending Paul de Grandmont. He always applies his experience and intuitive sense of what makes great marketing communications to his work. The result is a cultural and linguistic adaptation that goes far beyond the work of run-of-the-mill translators.

I have been working with PDG since the Eighties. What I admire most in him is his patience with clients and the high degree of flexibility that enables him to adjust to any type of situation. His way of thinking is typically North American in that he always makes sure that his copy sells.

I worked with Paul during a three year period, primarily in the automotive category. Paul and his team provided great creative solutions to the unique challenges we had in the French marketplace. His role extended beyond the service of copywriting and translation to playing a key role in working with our clients and as an overall resource on all things regarding creative requirements in the French Quebec marketplace. He made himself available whenever needed and was often expected to work to challenging deadlines. His creative motivated consumers and I look forward to working together with Paul in the future.

A few years ago, as a member of the marketing team of Métro-Richelieu Supermarkets I had to deal with and came to appreciate Paul de Grandmont who was then Creative Director for our Montreal-based advertising agency, Marketel. His talent enabled Métro-Richelieu to establish itself as one of Québec’s foremost announcers and helped create a distinct image for each of our banners. When I founded DesArts in the late 80s, Paul became a close collaborator.
